The ‘Your Song’ legend voiced his approval of Allen’s recruitment to the forthcoming stage musical of Bridget Jones’ Diary, which the 26-year-old confirmed this month that she had “nearly finished” writing.

John, who has recently been working with the ‘Not Fair’ singer, gave Music Week an update on the adaptation’s progress and spoke of Allen’s ‘excitement’ at her role.

“I think this week is the final kind of workshop for the Bridget Jones Diary project before they go into rehearsals,” he said. Read more…

When Harry met Sarah … well, let’s just say he roared, while she whispered. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, the climax to the eight-film franchise from the J.K. Rowling saga, grossed a wizardly $168.55 million, according to early studio reports, to win the box office weekend and quite a few other records besides. Meanwhile, the Sarah Palin documentary The Undefeated, playing on about a dozen screens (compared with DH2‘s 11,000) in such conservative bastions as Grapevine, Texas; and Orange County, California, amassed perhaps $75,000 though it’s hard to tell because the film’s distributor hasn’t released actual or estimated totals.

Prolifik, the evening host on WKSS-FM (Kiss 95.7), has been voted the No. 1 DJ in the country in a contest sponsored by a website called RadioFacts.com.

The 10-week contest allowed fans to vote online and via social media.

“Winning is definitely humbling,” Prolifik said via e-mail. (He’s also currently filling in at FoxCT, which shares corporate ownership with the Courant “It’s nice to get credit for your hard work every once in a while. Plus, there are some heavyweights on that list with me, so to be in that kind of company, it’s an honor.”

The DJ has worked full-time at Kiss since December 2009. In addition, he’s a rapper who last year released the mixtape “Verbal Thoughts 2″ (reviewed here). Prolifik is also filling in as a traffic reporter on FoxCT’s 4 p.m. newscast. FoxCT and The Courant share a corporate parent.

Prolifik received $500 for finishing first.
