LA police search for escapee who stalked Madonna

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a man convicted of threatening to kill Madonna who walked away from a Los Angeles-area mental hospital last week.

Los Angeles police say Robert Dewey Hoskins left the state hospital Friday. He had been committed there last year.

Hoskins, 54, is “highly psychotic” and can be extremely violent and should not be approached by members of the public, police said in a news release Thursday. They urged anyone who sees him to call authorities immediately.

Hoskins served a 10-year prison sentence for stalking and threatening Madonna after being convicted by a jury in 1996. Read more…

Meet 35-year-old Tyree Lincoln Smith.

Smith posed for the mugshot above after being arrested in Florida on a murder warrant stemming from the most gruesome crime you could possibly think of.

According to reports, Smith was homeless and sleeping on a porch in Bridgeport, Connecticut when the owner of the home invited him in out of the cold.

As thanks for the mans kindness, Smith killed him with a hatchet and ate the victims eye and part of his brain.

Golden Globe winner “The Artist” was nominated for ten Academy Awards including best picture.

Eddie Murphy is the official host of the 84th Academy Awards.

The Academy named him as host much to the delight of the ceremony’s producer, Brett Ratner. Ratner and Murphy will have had a big movie opening in November, “Tower Heist.” Surely a hit, the film will be the wave they can ride right into the February proceedings.

CLAREMORE, Okla. — Garth Brooks appeared before a friendly crowd Tuesday—the jurors who will hear his claim that an Oklahoma hospital refused to name a building for his late mother after he gave it $500,000.

Nearly everyone in the jury pool raised their hands when Brooks’ lawyer asked whether they had heard of the country music star. Eight of the 18 selected for possible duty acknowledged they were fans, and several said they had attended one or more of his concerts.

NEW YORK (AP) – Stephen Colbert isn’t running for president – at least not yet.During Thursday night’s episode of “The Colbert Report,” Colbert legally transferred his super political action committee to his friend and Comedy Central cohort Jon Stewart. Dropping by from “The Daily Show,” Stewart happily signed the documents and accepted the post, which was ceremonially observed by the two holding hands and bodily transferring the PAC powers.The move potentially paves the way for Colbert to enter the Republican presidential primary in South Carolina, his home state.

The entire cast of the upcoming season of Celebrity Apprentice was just revealed last week and we have learned the first major beef between two of the contestants. Former Danity Kane singer Aubrey ODay and the late night talk show legend Arsenio Hall.

We dont know the details, but apparently the feud is so heated that Aubrey nearly walked off the show. Good thing she didnt. There is no better way to ruffle Donald Trumps feathers than by not allowing him the satisfaction of saying: Youre Fired.

Lisa Loeb is on tour for her children’s book, “Lisa Loeb’s Silly Sing-Along: The Disappointing Pancake and Other Zany Songs.”

(PEOPLE.com) — There’s another baby on the way for Lisa Loeb!

The singer/author, 43, and husband Roey Hershkovitz will welcome their second child in June, her rep confirms to PEOPLE exclusively.

“I grew up with a big family, so I’m excited for Lyla to have a sibling!” Loeb tells PEOPLE.

The couple, who wed in 2009, are already parents to daughter Lyla Rose, 2.

Loeb can now be seen on tour for her children’s song book, “Lisa Loeb’s Silly Sing-Along: The Disappointing Pancake and Other Zany Songs.”

“It’s a little bit of a challenge to try to balance my work with my family, but my family comes first,” says Loeb, who also designs frames for her eyewear collection.

“My daughter is so beautiful and sweet and funny.”
