Pop singer Sara Bareilles, whose songs “Love Song,” “King of Anything” and “Uncharted” have topped the pop charts in the past three years, has canceled her Sept. 2 appearance at Allentown Fair, supporting hot country duo Sugarland.

Bareilles will be replaced on the date by the platinum-selling foursome Little Big Town, the fair just announced.

The fair was among four dates with Sugarland that Bareilles canceled, saying on her website that her commitments to the new job replacing Nicole Scherzinger on NBC-TVs a cappella singing contest “The Sing-Off” (Scherzinger moved to “The X Factor”) required that Bareilles “bow out of a few of the already confirmed shows.”

“Im so, so sorry for the inconvenience to both our friends in Sugarland, and to the fans that may have been looking forward to seeing us,” Bareilles said on her website. “I promise well make it up to you and come back in the near future!”

The Allentown show was the last of the dates canceled. The others are Aug. 12 in Rockford, Ill., Aug. 19 in Englewood, Colo. and Aug. 26 in Mountain View, Calif.

Shell still play Sept. 3 at New York State Fair and Aug. 31 in New York Citys Central Park.

Bareilles’ latest album, “Kaleidoscope Heart,” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard.

“I cannot express how much fun this tour has been and the entire Sugarland band and crew have been unbelievably amazing to us, and we are beyond grateful for this opportunity to join them on tour,” Bareilles said.

Little Big Town had previously been the opening act on the highly successful first leg of Sugarlands “The Incredible Machine Tour” that launched in the spring, the fair said. The band played Allentown’s Crocodile Rock Café in 2007 and Penn’s Peak near Jim Thorpe in August 2009 and again in November.

The group’s latest album, “The Reason Why,” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Country chart in August.

The band is best known for its Top 10 hits “Bookdocks” in 2005, “Bring It On Home” in 2006 and “Little White Church,” which went gold last year.

The fair said there are fewer than 500 tickets still available for the show, which would give the fair its second sellout for the season. Nickelodeon television show boy band Big Time Rush’s Sept. 4 show also has sold out (actually, a small number of single-seat tickets remain for sale).
