KATE Hudson and rocker fiance Matthew have Bellamy revealed they have named their newborn son Bingham Bing Hawn Bellamy.
Hudson, 32, welcomed her second child – and her first baby with the British rocker – on Saturday but sources close to the actress said she was struggling to decide on the perfect name for the boy.
But Bellamy tweeted to fans yesterday: “So happy! Just had a baby boy, Bingham “Bing” Hawn Bellamy.”
“For those wondering, Bingham is my mum’s maiden name and Bing Russell was Kurt’s dad. Family connections all round!” the 33-year-old Muse frontman explained.
“Mum and baby are strong and healthy. Mum was a warrior, Bing popped out after 4.5 hours of intense pushing!” the proud father added about the baby that weighed in at 3.2kg.
He joins big brother Ryder Russell, Hudson’s 7-year-old son with ex-husband Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes. Her eldest son’s middle name honours actor Kurt Russell, Hawn’s longtime partner.
The couple’s choice of odd baby name comes days after David and Victoria Beckham announced they had named their fourth child, and first daughter, Harper Seven. But Hudson and Bellamy’s bub’s name reportedly has family meaning, with his middle name paying homage to Hudson’s mother, legendary screen siren Goldie Hawn.
Hudson began dating Bellamy in the spring of 2010 and she announced her pregnancy in January.
She revealed she was engaged to the 33-year-old Muse front man on the Today show in late April.
